Two Brides at San Francisco City Hall
I’m a very lucky photographer. I get to work with gorgeous couples, like these two brides at San Francisco City Hall. Matisse and Breanne traveled from Washington state to celebrate their marriage in San Francisco. They showed up to City Hall looking stunning. As we made our way through the building, people couldn’t help but turn their heads and admire these two ladies. City workers smiled as they walked by on their lunch break. Tourists couldn’t believe their luck.
But as gorgeous as these two women are, I got to be up close and personal during the most important part of their day. I was just a couple feet way, documenting their short but emotional wedding ceremony. I saw and captured the way the looked at one another. They were lucky – they got one of the best City Hall marriage commissioners for their ceremony.
It’s amazing how much you can click with people in such a short timeframe. The ladies told me that they had found my work online, and that it had inspired them to come to SF and get married here. We talked about how they met, about work, about San Francisco in July, about Walla Walla wine. We discussed same sex weddings, and people watching at San Francisco City Hall. Although we spent just over an hour together, we were able to cover a lot of ground inside and outside the building.
One of my favorite moments was when Matisse and Breanna were walking down the staircase (I was photographing from above), and an excited French tourist approached me. She stared down below, then turned to me and exclaimed (pardon my French): “Deux mariées! Si belle! Ahhh!” She was absolutely stunned to see these two brides at San Francisco City Hall. Did I mention? I am a very lucky San Francisco City Hall wedding photographer. Judge for yourself.
