Hawaii Destination Wedding
Cynthia and Alfred are a “globally connected” couple. They have a huge network of family and friends, ranging from China to Vancouver. Fittingly, they celebrated their wedding in three totally different parts of the world. First, they planned an elopement at San Francisco City Hall. Then they flew to China for a big destination wedding. And finally, they invited me to document their Hawaii destination wedding, on the island of Oahu.
On the first day of their Hawaii destination wedding, the couple planned a fun reception at the Alohilani Resort. They were joined by an intimate group of friends. There were speeches and lots of dancing. Mike Bell Weddings MC’d and DJ’ed, and totally rocked the music. My favorite part of the evening was when Mike brought out some palm leaves as props. People made great use of them on the dance floor.
I stole the couple before and after the reception for some creative shots around the hotel. Cynthia wore these gorgeous tangerine shoes and a silk peach dress. I loved the colors, and I also appreciated how this outfit contrasted with the subtle white wedding dress she wore at SF City Hall. When it got dark, the torches and lights were glowing on the hotel’s roof deck, and we took full advantage of the ambiance.
The following day, Cynthia, Alfred, and their friend Sabrina and her son Jason all came out to Ko Olina, on the other side of the island. We took photos on a private beach during magic hour, and then captured an amazing sunset. When I was preparing for their Hawaii destination wedding, I kept thinking about how amazing the sunsets would be, and I was not disappointed!
My huge thanks to Cynthia and Alfred for bringing me out to capture their Hawaii destination wedding! I hope the memories last a lifetime! Now, check out the photos:
