Gay Wedding San Francisco City Hall
As I sat down to Thanksgiving dinner with my family, I felt incredible gratitude about what has transpired in California this year. It has been amazing to see same sex parents finally get recognition and equal rights. It has been a long and hard fight for marriage equality. Since the Supreme Court rulings in June, gay couples have been flocking to have a gay wedding San Francisco City Hall. In droves. To officially, tie the knot. I was honored to attend and document the wedding of Dave Dean and Steve Lowinger recently, who were married after raising two sons and being a couple for 23 years. Their two sons, Luke and Sam were also present to witness their fathers’ union. It really is incredible to finally see their family get the recognition that many take for granted. Photographing gay weddings San Francisco city hall has a special meaning to me personally. I have lived in this city and seen what monumental effort was required to achieve equality. There were steps forward and steps back, as the hopes of gay couples were lifted and dashed repeatedly. I was at City Hall during those fretful moments. I saw the long line of gay and lesbian couples. Waiting. Hoping. Finally. Present at their gay wedding San Francisco City Hall was a videographer from the New York Times. She captured Dave and Steve’s story beautifully.
