Temple Emanuel in San Francisco is one of the most spectacular synagogues in the Bay Area. The congregation boasts a cavernous sanctuary, beautiful chandeliers, imposing stained glass windows and a magnificent marble bimah. A temple emanuel Bar Mitzvah can be stunning. One of the biggest challenges to capturing a Temple Emanuel Bar Mitzvah is that the synagogue generally does not allow photography to take place on the main level. In the photographs below from Robert’s Bar Mitzvah celebration, you’ll see how I utilize different vantage points to capture the scope of the space as well as to get as close as possible to the action while still remaining unobtrusive and respecting the sanctity of the celebration. You’ll also see how I capture flattering family portraits that also showcase the beauty of the space. Check out some of the candid, fun, spontaneous moments, too!
